Tote Tray Cabinets

Start Organizing with Totes and Trays
Many artists find that organization is not one of their better skills. Canvases are the home to their skills and talents. Their work areas are generally disorganized with a vast majority of supplies that are frequently used. Organization will not only give artists easier access to needed materials but also promote creativity. Accomplished artist know that inviting surroundings produce masterpieces. In the following, there are some great ideas for organizing your surroundings for better performance.

  • Begin by sorting your art supplies and tools. Most artists have their materials widely spread throughout work areas. Place similar supplies and tools together. Further sort each type of item by size and most used. This process may take some time. Invest time and patience into this task.
  • Obtain an adequate amount of containers, trays and bins to properly store all materials. There are many different types of storage containers available for your choosing. Some prefer to use clear containers in order to be able to see what is inside.
  • Invest in tall cabinets for certain supplies such as light sensitive paints. These have multiple uses and are widely available in different sizes.
  • Always label containers and shelves. This makes stocking and finding items much easier. Use a permanent marker and basic self adhesive labels. Container lids are best labeled as well. This makes replacing lids on containers simpler.
Organization is also economical. Many times artists cannot find certain items and assume they have none. In turn, they purchase the items which is an unnecessary expense. Organization allows individuals the benefit of knowing when supplies are needed.
