Displaying Your Drawings
Many artists place their drawings on display for all to see. Some open their studios to the public in an attempt to form a lucrative career. In doing so, it becomes necessary to properly display their works. Displaying artwork in a studio or any other venue will require style and technique in placement. There are some suggestions for how to showcase your talent during an art display.

  • Walls are most used in displays. You should neatly arrange artwork that blends well together. Group sceneries, still-life or animals into areas by themselves. Abstract art should have an area of its own as well. Animals of the same theme are grouped as one. After hanging, you should make sure that artwork is straight. If pieces are hanging uneven, it may take away from the overall beauty of your creation.
  • When additional wall space is needed, you can create fake walls using plywood and fabric. Choose a fabric color that blends into the room. Never make a spectacle with color. Screens and dividers may also be used for additional space.
  • Place artwork that you consider to be high dollar masterpieces on individual easels. Locate these in strategic areas of the room so that other groupings do not take away from the uniqueness of the pieces.
  • Table top easels can be place on tables throughout your art display. This is a great way to showcase works with individuality or those that make their own statement.
  • Use print racks for holding multiple single pieces that do not seem to blend well with your other artwork. Individuals visiting your display can simply thumb through these magnificent pieces.
Many artists find that mingling with guests at art displays is a great way to become motivated. Positive feedback from viewers is a great inspiration. Numerous artists have found lucrative careers while hosting art displays of their best works.
