Organizing Your Supplies for Storage
Artists and crafters can spend a great deal of time and effort searching for certain tools and supplies. Supplies and tools often become disorganized during crafting of a project. Once beginners become more skilled, they tend finish more projects. Therefore, there is a greater need for organization. When organizing, some individuals choose to do so by the type of craft. Others organize by type of supply. Each of these methods of organization is briefly discussed in the following.
Each type of art or craft can be thoroughly organized. You can simply make a container for each. This technique of storage is better for making crafts. Kits can be made for each individual craft project. They will include the supplies and tools for completing a project.
People who usually work in only one type of art or craft generally organize by type of supplies. They find it exceptionally beneficially to have all their paints in one area or all of their brushes in a particular storage area. Often items are sorted by sub-types such as with paints. Oil paints are often stored separately from watercolors.
Sorting Your Supplies
Before storing your supplies in proper areas, you should sort supplies and tools. After collecting similar items into groups, you can easily place them in bins and storage containers for quick access.
