Gouache

Schmincke Horadam Gouache is more than just opaque watercolor. Since no white is added to Horadam Gouche to artifically boost its covering power, it can create crisp color blends like no other gouache. Of the 48 colors, all but 8 are based on a single pigment. Like Horadam Watercolors, colors thin with water and are easily rewetted if left to dry on the palette. Horadam Gouache is so finely ground, it can even be used for 0.15 mm airbrush work. Many other brands of gouache are "designer" gouaches, with an emphasis on accurate pre-mixed colors for use by the designer. By contrast, Horadam is a "fine artist" gouache, with an emphsis on providing the classic range of pigments as pure, single-pigment colors.

Acrylic gouache paints are ideal for folk art techniques, or for decorative painting on wood, terra cotta, and metal. Made from the finest quality pigments, they have the same rich and creamy formulation as Jo Sonja's Background colors, and are compatible with the line's other products. Acrylic gouache paint covers most surfaces in one coat, then dries to a matte velvet finish. It's lightfast, and will not fade.
