Before beginning to hand paint your pottery, you should have in mind an idea of what you want the appearance to be. If painting a set of pottery pieces, you should decide if they should be themed or individual in nature. For instance, do you want them to all have a country theme? If so, you can use chickens and roosters as their décor. For more elegant pieces, maybe some simple striping will do.
