Choosing a pottery wheel can be a difficult task for any potter. Some choose to buy used wheels. These may be a benefit to your budget but often need repairs. There are some suggestions and tips for choosing a pottery wheel.
First, consider your budget. Your skill level and budget should always be factors in choosing a pottery wheel. Most choose a wheel head that allows for creating smaller pieces to begin with. With time and greater skill, many select a 14 inch wheel.

Be aware of the amount of space that you have available. Potting areas should be large enough for everything that is needed. Easy access to supplies and ease of movement are greatly needed. Your space also determines the size of pottery wheel that can be used.
