What is a Bat System?
Most pottery is made using a bat system of some sort. Plaster bat systems offer advantages over others. They tend to absorb a great deal of moisture from the clay forms base. This allows pieces of pottery to dry well and easily release. With easier release, wire cutting is not necessary. Bat systems allow potters to make their own economical bats very simply. Wheel head attachments are rapidly centered in your wheel and enable bats to be well secured.
