- Select a clean hard surface on which to tap the bottom of the bowl in order to flatten. A flat and smooth bottom is sought so that projects will sit steadily on a table or shelf when finished.
Ceramic Firing
- Shaped and molded projects should be allowed to dry thoroughly. They can be placed in the sun or other warm area. Drying usually takes a day or longer. Kilns can be easily used at home for your ceramic crafts and projects.
- Pieces can be fired at 800 to 850 degrees F. Multiple pieces can be fired at one time.
- After firing, ceramics glaze of any color desired can be applied. It should be allowed to fully dry. Drying will take about 18 hours at room temperature.
- After ceramics glaze has thoroughly dried, you may fire the piece once more.
