This allows artists to have great control and precision in painting.

Sable-Kolinsky brush fibers come from Siberia and are thought to be the best of all the natural fibers used in making natural bristles. Sable-Kolinsky brushes are very soft brushes that are crafted from hair of the sable marten’s tail. They have a natural taper and come to a point. Sable-Kolinsky brushes are extremely expensive. Brushes of Sable-Kolinsky are coveted by many for their fine points and flexible bristles. Most experienced watercolor artists use the Sable-Kolinsky brush due to the extreme flexibility of the bristles.

There are many other natural fibers that work well for all forms of art. Natural fibers such as goat, squirrel, hog and others often serve the needs of many artists. Each artist must individually choose the bristle fiber, whether synthetic or natural, that allows for precise brush strokes.
