Lettering Brushes
Many artist produce works with large letters. For this reason, there are special lettering brushes to make the task much easier. Most lettering brushes have long hairs that are made of natural fibers. These long hairs allowing for a higher color carrying potential. This produces large block lettering with one simple stroke. On smooth surfaces such as metal or glass, softer fibers are best peforming. Many of these softer fibers include sable or squirrel. On more abrasive surfaces such as ceramics, woods or canvases primed iwth acrylics, you want a more sturdy and durable fiber. Many choose bristle or synthetic selections for these types of projects. Deterioration of softer hairs occurs more rapidly when the surface is rough.
