Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) is one of the most influential artists of all time. Born in Spain, Picasso migrated to Paris, France in his late teens and went on to found the abstract movement that was so prevalent among twentieth-century artists.  Picasso’s “Blue Period” began shortly after his arrival in Paris, when he created empathetic images of the derelict poor on the city streets.  Picasso’s works from this period are a mix of blues, grays and dull whites, such as the Old Guitarist (1903).
