Made in Germany, Schmincke's Norma Professional Oil Colors are environmentally friendly in both their formulation and production. Norma's balanced selection of 84 brilliant modern and traditional colors includes 27 high-quality transparent and unique special colors. In addition to new highly lightfast Chromium Yellow colors (which achieve a high degree of coverage), special colors also include Poppy Red, Cobalt Turquoise, Agate Brown, Schweinfurt Green Hue, Neutral Black, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. All 84 shades display the maximum degree of lightfastness. The environmentally friendly formulation of Norma Oils includes the use of many naturally renewable raw materials. Combinations of pure, high-quality plant oils produce good adhesion, optimum absorption of the pigment, and less tendency to yellow. The best of both traditional and modern pigments are used in the highest possible concentrations, guaranteeing the maximum efficiency and an extraordinary degree of luminosity and brilliance. A patient manufacturing process that includes grinding with a traditional three-cylinder mill, followed by a three-month maturation period before packaging, guarantees the optimum development of the raw materials within the pure oil paints. All Norma colors display a balanced, creamy, buttery consistency, producing the optimum texture when mixed together. Optimization of the formulation also ensures that the drying process is shortened and is even for all colors — guaranteeing a brilliant, resistant surface. Norma Professional Oils can be combined with Schmincke Mussini colors and other oil paints.
