This easel is made in a factory where old world craftsmanship is practiced everyday. Each easel is a reflection of the craftsman that made it, and each is made with loving care to enrich the life of the artist that gets one. The Renaissance Easel would be a favorite with the great masters and would appeal to their sense of size, style, utility and rigidity. Even Leonardo Da Vinci would be impressed with some of the exclusive features of this easel!
Made of finely sanded and richly oiled beech wood, the Renaissance is absolutely breathtaking and symbolic of the craft that the artist practices on a day to day basis. It will adorn and enrich the aesthetics of any studio. This robust easel will accept canvases up to 91" high and unlike other easels that may look the same, features a patented metal tension stabilizer located at the rear of the center pole. So even when fully extended, the security of the canvas up to 60" wide and 90" high is never in question. The Renaissance Easel is one of the first huge studio easels that allow free movement forward to reduce glare and to enable painting with pastel. It features a full range of backward angles to reduce glare and increase working comfort.
The engineered bracing system and hinges are made to last a lifetime no matter how many times you adjust the easel. The super smooth crank adjustment system makes lifting virtually any weight canvas quick and easy. When you don't need the hand crank you can remove it so it is out of the way.
To enable painting edge to edge the easel features removable metal screw-on spacers. These spacers offset the canvas and eliminate the problem of finishing the painting at the edges. Renaissance features a double shelf design, one open and one closed with two trays. The two trays open at the sides of the easel and may be removed from the easel or kept open dependant on the way the artist wishes to work. A patented painting tray fits right up front; it allows painting close to the canvas and may hold up to 3 brushes upright.
The sculptured wooden hand knobs are a symbol of quality finishing that other easels just can't compare to. These knobs make tightening easier and are a welcome change from plastic and metal screws on knobs other brands feature that are not easy to use or nice to look at. For mobility, the Renaissance Easel features four high quality all surface castors and two up front locking breaks.
